I think Duende is a nice addition to my system, even tho Ive got the Waves SSL also, - as said there are a tonal difference, and its a cheap way of freeing up more dsp on the Accel-cards for other stuff and getting 32 ch.
Ssl duende vst pro#
Ive had Duende on my system for the past week, and it seems very stable with Pro Tools, but there are still a few bugs with Logic Pro 7.2. 1.400 sampels so well within the limits of our ADC, but obviously a problem if you want to record into a ch.-strip, - Waves is a winner in that respect as its HD. (actually many of the RTAS-plugs we use are "wrapped" VST, - most companies just dont mention it)Īs allwayes with external processors there are "latency", - in case of Duende apr.

Ssl duende vst install#
The install af Duende is easy and strait forward, and there is no reason to fear what they call "wrapped", it installs as a RTAS-plug. on duende is easy on the eye, and I like the small display showing the routing of the channel at all times, nice. There is no quality difference, - only a tonal one, so its upto prefference. SSL Duende is cleaner in the sound and hit the mark with the newer SSL stuff. There is a big tonal difference betwine the Waves SSL and Duende, - the Waves to my ear has more colour and is sounding much like the older SSL - so they hit the mark as you would expect. Some heavy ones not in this test are Serum, u-HE Diva and u-HE Repro. Both systems have an awesome sound that I reeally like. Massive X and Pigments are new synths and they are not that CPU heavy. If you freeze the tracks it is quite a usable synths. Izotope Iris 2 is a nice synth with unique features but its time-stretching and spectral filtering algorithms are heavy. Like Omnisphere 2 Massive is a sweet spot synth regarding CPU usage and it is still at potent synthesizer. A Versatile synth that sounds good with reasonable usage. Probably due to the new Kontakt 6 wavetable engine and better build in reverb. The new Kontakt Analog Dreams synths are surprisingly heavy for what they are.

Native Instruments FM8 is an old processor light synth still worth using for its characteristic FM sound. 0 means zero latency and 128 means 128 samples due to the fact that Reaper delays in ASIO buffer size chunks. PDC is plugin delay compensation in samples. X-Comp is capable of many compressor modes and styles-from gentle and unobtrusive control to stricter, more confined dynamics and up to very obvious special effects that radically change tonality. The image shows Reaper CPU meter with some synths ordered by use. Duende plugs are available in VST, Audio Units and RTAS (with Wrapper) formats on PCs and Macs, and operate at 44.1/48/88.2/96kHz rates. Reaper CPU meter with processor usage and Plugin Delay Compensation We have tested CPU usage on some instrument plugins and here is the result. Instruments are plugins that generate sound based on input signals like midi.
